About the walk

There will be three separate groups of participating in this event.

Team Bandicoot, made up of Sam Hughes and approximately 12 of his friends will walk from the West coast of England to the East coast.

Team Ocelot, made up of Dan Hughes and approximately 32 friends and fellow bloggers from all over the world will walk from the East coast to the West coast.

Team Gnu, made up of Gary and approximately 8 friends who will cycle the nearby Hadrians Wall Cycle Path over the course of two days.

All three groups will set off at the same time and meet up in the middle on the evening of day three. There then will most probably have some form of “dance off’ or “Your Momma” contest to determine which team is superior and then part ways to continue with their journeys.

So here’s the daily plan for the Hadrian’s Wall hike.

Monday July 5th, 2010: Wallsend, Newcastle to Heddon-on-the-Wall (15 miles)
Stay at Houghton North Farm Bunkhouse, Heddon Lodge, & Ironsign Farm

Tuesday July 6th, 2010: Heddon-on-the-Wall to Walwick (16 miles)
Stay at Greencarts Bunkhouse

Wednesday July 7th, 2010: Walwick to Winshields (12 miles)
Stay at Winshields Camp Site (this is where Team Ocelot, Team Bandicoot, and Team Gnu will cross over).

Thursday July 8th, 2010: Winshields to Walton (13 miles)
Stay at Greenhead Youth Hostel

Friday July 9th, 2010: Walton to Carlisle (15 miles)
Stay at Carlisle Youth Hostel

Saturday July 10th, 2010: Carlisle to Bowness-on-Solway (15 miles)

Monday July 5th, 2010: Bowness-on-Solway to Carlisle (15 miles)

Tuesday July 6th, 2010: Carlisle to Greenhead (20 miles)

Wednesday July 7th, 2010: Greenhead to Winshields (5 miles)
Stay at Winshields Camp Site (this is where Team Ocelot, Team Bandicoot, and Team Gnu will cross over)

Thursday July 8th, 2010: Winshields to Walwick (10 miles)

Friday July 9th, 2010: Walwick to Heddon-on-the-Wall (16 miles)
Stay at Houghton North Farm Bunkhouse

Saturday July 10th, 2010: Heddon-on-the-Wall to Wallsend, Newcastle (15 miles)
